Victoria Airport is a medium-sized airport serving Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It was built on the Saanich Peninsula and now it is run by the local Airport Authority. NAV CANADA lists it as an airport of entry. Year 2010 counted 1514713 passengers to use YYJ which made it one of the busiest airports in Canada. There are two nearby locations that provide splendid views on taking-off planes-on the Canora Road and next to Mills Road.

The airport began in 1914 as a training base for the army. Air Canada started using it in 1943. The Victoria Airport Authority took over operational control in 1997. Massive renovation and expansion were begun in 2000, leading to significant changes.

A three level terminal and three runways handle about 1.5 million passengers a year and the Arrival area houses a Red Coat Information Desk staffed by volunteers. A bicycle Assembly Station is available east of the short term parking area and a Security Office can be found east of the Terminal. Disabled facilities are very well represented and a Family Room and Children’s Play Area have been built.

A business center, banks and exchange offices are also offered whereas entertainment opportunities include a gift shop, an airside café, the lounge and several restaurants.
